About Massimo At Massimo, we strive to bring each customer an innovative, relaxed and very personal dining experience. The foundation of the experience is our food to which Chef and Owner Massimo Ormani gives a contemporary twist to the Florentine cuisine of his heritage. Co-Owner, Daniela Judah-Ormani, manages the restaurant and ensures that you will enjoy the high standard of service, authenticity and individuality that she and Massimo long dreamed of bringing to Los Angeles.
Massimo’s formal culinary education took place in Florence, Italy. There his skills and reputation flourished at some of the finest restaurants in Italy including Cibreo, one of the most highly acclaimed and internationally recognized establishments in Florence. Massimo first visited the United States in 1989 when he was selected with the Cibreo team representing the “Best of Italy” at the Italian Manifesto Conference in Aspen, Colorado. At the end of 1989, Massimo was sought out in Italy to take over the kitchen at Locanda Veneta restaurant in Los Angeles. Since Massimo’s arrival and throughout his eleven years at Locanda Veneta, the restaurant was consistently rated by Zagat as one of the top three Italian restaurants in Southern California. Massimo has also been featured on Italy’s National Network as “Chef to the Stars” as well as locally on NBC-TV and in the Los Angeles Times. He has served as a consultant for major restaurant chains in Japan and the United States. |
